Classes of Membership
Premiere Membership:
The Initial Surplus Contribution for Founding and Premiere Members shall be the greater of $500,000 or 70% of GEM's net written premium.

Payment of the surplus contribution shall be made at the time the Member joins GEM or ratably over the first three years of membership.

Associate Membership:
Associate members will be required to make a minimum surplus contribution of $20,000 at the time the member joins GEM. Thereafter, for a period of four years, on each annual policy renewal date, the associate member will contribute an additional surplus contribution of $20,000. The maximum contribution over the five year period will be $100,000.

Founding Membership:
Closed as of October 1, 2003.
Submission Schedule
Submissions are sought 120 days prior to the effective date to accommodate the underwriting needs of GEM.

GEM can produce reinsurance proposals 30 days prior to the effective date provided timely data submissions. In most cases, GEM is able to execute reinsurance agreements prior to the effective date.
