GEM Cyber Summit - July 22, 2015 (Wednesday)

GEM is holding a Cyber Summit in conjunction with its third quarter Board and Annual Meeting in Portland Oregon.  The Summit will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, the day before the GEM Board & Annual Meeting.  Below is a summary of the speakers and their topics.  A program guide will be emailed to the membership in early June. The Registration Form can be downloaded from the link further below.  We encourage early registration to ensure availability and guest room preferences.

  • Cybersecurity and Cyberwar: What Everyone Needs to Know®
    Speaker: (Peter Singer) Mr. Singer is a Strategist and Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation, founder of NeoLuddite, a technology advisory firm, author of multiple award-winning books, including Cyber Security and Cyberwar: What Everyone Needs to Know and the founding Director of the Center for 21st Century Security and Intelligence at the Brookings Institution.
  • Building An Approach to Data Security Breach Liability
    Speaker: (Holly K.Towle) Ms. Towle is a partner with K&L Gates LLP, an international law firm. She is the author of two treatises, The Law of Electronic Commercial Transactions (2003-2012 A.S. Pratt & Sons), and Data Privacy, Protection, and Security Law (2012 A.S. Pratt & Sons).  She is a member of the American Law Institute, and is listed among the top 25 Information Technology lawyers in the Best of the Best USA.  She is included in the Guide to the World's Leading Technology, Media & Telecommunications Lawyers, An International Who's Who of E-Commerce & Data Protection Lawyers, and for more than 15 years, in the Financial Institutions Law and the Information Technology sections of The Best Lawyers in America.
  • Cyber Security, Risk Management, and Insurance
    Speaker:  (Brian Huntley) Mr. Huntley is a Senior Information Security Advisor with IDT 911. Brian has more than 25 years of management and senior staff experience in information technology and security within the financial services and utility sectors.   For the past 15 years, he has centered on information security, risk management, and compliance for customer information systems that need to adhere to commercial, federal, and state regulatory compliance mandates and directives. Brian also has more than 30 years of experience in public safety. He holds CISSP, CBCP and CISA certifications, is a Licensed Professional Engineer and is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Best Practices: How to Prepare for a Data Breach Break, How to Create a Data Breach Response Plan
    Speaker: (Alex Ricardo, CIPP/US) Mr. Ricardo serves Beazley’s Technology, Media & Business Group, managing business development initiatives for the Beazley Breach Response Program. He provides support and guidance to Beazley’s insured base from both a Breach Preparedness and Breach Response prospective. He has a background of service to Fortune 500 corporations and government agencies, addressing information leakage prevention, data/e discovery, messaging encryption and internal threat management.
